Practice yoga to beat mental stress, PM Modi to paramilitary forces recruits

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asked the newly inducted jawans and officials of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) to practice yoga to beat mental stress.

Mr. Modi handed out 51,000 appointment letters to recruits who will be joining the paramilitary forces, Narcotics Control Bureau, and the Delhi Police as Constable (general duty), Sub-Inspector (general duty) and in Non–General Duty Cadre posts.

Asking the recruits not to compromise on physical fitness, Mr. Modi said, “Stressful moments come many times in your duty, there is tension even around small issues. Yoga, it should be a daily practice in your life. You will see that a balanced mind will give great strength to your work. It is not just a physical exercise, it is very important to be a part of life for a healthy mind, for a balanced mind, and for people like you to be free from stress in duty.”
