Royal Navy ship HMS Penzance was spotted sailing into Glasgow this morning.
The ship is a Sandown-class minehunter, specially designed to neutralise underwater threats and clear the shipping lanes. Her motto is “diligent thought.”
She was recently on a visit to the Isle of Man in January and and enabled junior crew members to experience their first run ashore.

She is now back at her home port at Faslane on the Clyde Naval Base and will be heavily involved in team training.
Like all Sandown-class vessels, she is most effective in deeper waters, so she can often be found surveying shipping routes or clearing the way for military operations.
