Royal Mail has warned its customers they have just a few days left to send cards and gifts this Christmas.
The postal company is asking customers to post their mail earlier than usual for Christmas this year as a result of the ongoing strike action by its workers. The company is bringing forward its latest recommended posting dates for domestic and international mail to help manage any impact from planned strike action by members of the Communication Workers Union on December 9, 11, 14, 15, 23 and 24.
The final posting date for second class has passed (December 12), and there are just three days left to post things first class if they are to arrive by December 25. The final posting date for first class gifts and parcels is Friday, December 16.

Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed items should be sent by Wednesday, December 21, according to Royal Mail's website, which also states: "As always, our advice is to post early and avoid the rush."
With the threat of more planned CWU strike action across the UK, Royal Mail said it continues to deploy a range of contingency plans. Nick Landon, chief commercial officer, Royal Mail, said: "The CWU is striking at our busiest time, holding Christmas to ransom for our customers, businesses and families across the country.
"We apologise to our customers for any disruption and delay that the CWU strike action is causing. We ask our customers to post early for Christmas to help us deliver Christmas."
The CWU said: "Our members are striking for a pay rise that fully addresses the current cost of living. Our members need it, our members deserve it – the company can afford it." It comes after Royal Mail offered a 2% pay rise, which was refused.
