Royal Mail has launched an investigation after video footage emerged which appeared to show a postman urinating in a doorway.
Ring Doorbell footage shows a man, who appears to be in company uniform, climbing a stairwell before urinating in a corner.
The incident took place in Loughton, in Essex, on Friday, March 13, at a residential two-storey block just before 6pm.
The resident who caught the footage said he was “disgusted” and reported it to the company.
He told the BBC he did not recognise the man, who had left by the time he went outside, adding that a puddle believed to be urine was left behind.
A spokesperson for Royal Mail said the firm was looking into the incident "as a priority".
"While we are still establishing the full circumstances, this is not the standard of behaviour we expect from our people," they added.
