Linfield chairman Roy McGivern has called on clubs to make sure ambulance cover is present at all senior games.
It comes after Blues goalkeeper David Walsh faced a lengthy wait to be taken to hospital following his horror injury in Tuesday night's Co Antrim Shield final.
Walsh received treatment on the pitch to a head wound and broken nose from medical staff from both Linfield and Larne before an ambulance crew was able to arrive at Seaview.

McGivern says "lessons need to be learned" and called on clubs to make sure paramedics are at games in the future.
"I think there are clear lessons to be learned in terms of a final of that magnitude and that crowd," he said.
"To have no ambulance cover there in this day and age is a grave mistake.
"I'm sure the Co Antrim FA will reflect on that in terms of their planning for next year.
"It is something that has to be fixed, not only for senior finals but for all senior games.
"We have an ambulance here for all home games at Windsor Park and I think all clubs must do that in the future.
"I know it's something NIFL are keen on too so I think all clubs need to act on that now."
Remarkably Walsh was back at Windsor Park on Thursday morning taking part in some light training.
"It shows the character of the lad that he wants to be back on the football pitch as soon as possible," added McGivern.
"We were all really concerned on Tuesday night after it happened as it looked a really bad injury.
"Thankfully it's no more than a broken nose, a black eye and eight stitches in a head wound, I say no more but that's bad enough really.
"I thought he had a tremendous game for a young lad, he's played in every round of the shield this year.
"He's a great prospect and the sort of lad we want at this club."
