Ian Wright has admitted that he touched the 'This Is Anfield' sign before walking out of the tunnel to face Liverpool at Anfield.
The former Arsenal star highlighted the significance of it and that he 'had to' because of the history behind the famous sign.
But, also in the ITV studio for Liverpool's home FA Cup clash against Norwich City, Roy Keane insisted he would never touch the famous Anfield sign.
The former Manchester United captain is not well liked on Merseyside and called Wright "childish" for touching the sign.
" Of course I touched it," said Wright when asked if he touched the sign.
"When I went out with the guys I would not touch it, because you would never know whether it would be deemed as a bit disrespectful, but you have to touch it don’t you, it’s such a fantastic stadium."
Ex-United skipper Keane wouldn't have ever dreamed of touching the sign and he made that clear in his answer to the question.
"Of course not. It is traditional for English players but not for me," Keane replied.
"It’s childish Wrighty, why did you touch it? What did you get out of it? Did it benefit you in any way?"
