Roy Keane pays tribute to 'beautiful' dog Jet after pet's death

Manchester United Legend Roy Keane has paid tribute to his German Shepherd Jet.

The dog loving ex-footballer posted a series of pictures of the dog on Instagram, announcing the family pet had recently died.

In his latest post Keane shared footage of Jet playing in the snow and playing with his family.

The 52-year-old wrote: "Thanks Jet for being so beautiful and loyal to our family. We will miss you."

A few of Keane’s former United colleagues provided some words of comfort.

Former England captain David Beckham wrote: “The last picture is amazing… Sorry for your loss Roy.”

Meanwhile Gary Neville and Ian Wright posted emojis beneath the post.

Keane had previously shared his concern about Jet’s health in an episode of The Overlap.

Speaking earlier this month, the Irishman said: "You have a routine and you have to look after them. Walk them. I went out this morning before I came here.

"You have a routine with your dogs. I've always had dogs, going back when I was growing up in Ireland we always had dogs in the house.

"It gives you good security. It's good for a bit of exercise. Love them to bits. I've got two dogs. But mine are getting a bit old now and a bit frail and that's always the worry that something will happen to them."

Last year a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault after Keane was reportedly headbutted at Arsenal’s home ground the Emirates Stadium.

Confirming the incident, a Sky Sports spokeswoman said: “We understand the police are investigating an alleged assault by a member of the public immediately preceding the footage circulating on social media.

“In the footage seen, Micah Richards was acting to defuse a situation.”
