Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has named Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney in his top three Premier League players of all time.
Ronaldo, who scored the 700th goal of his club career during United's 2-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday night, and Rooney will go down in Premier League folklore as two of the finest players to have ever graced the division. The former is one of the most gifted and heavily decorated players to have played in England's top flight, winning a series of trophies and individual awards throughout his career.

Rooney, meanwhile, is the second-highest goalscorer in Premier League history, scoring 208 goals for United and Everton combined. Only former Newcastle United man Alan Shearer (260) has scored more in the division, meaning only he and Rooney have scored more than 200 goals in the competition.
And that impressive record was enough to see Rooney, alongside former teammate Ronaldo, named in Keane's top three greatest Premier League players. The former Reds captain initially misunderstood the question, as he was asked to name his top three footballers of all time, but that didn't stop him from lauding the United greats.
Keane, appearing on Sky Sports, said: "I've certainly gone for Ronaldo, but I was looking at players in the Premier League. I have gone for Ronaldo, Rooney and Thierry Henry.
"They're the three that I thought were brilliant players."
Keane was also asked to name his top three current Premier League players. Despite not being granted many opportunities so far this season, Ronaldo still made the former Republic of Ireland international's shortlist, joining Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland on the list.
"De Bruyne, Haaland, and Ronaldo," added Keane. "De Bruyne, what he does week in, week out, his consistency is fantastic.
"You see what Haaland has done already, he's new to the Premier League, and it is amazing what he can achieve over the next few years, particularly playing in a really good team like City and under Pep [Guardiola]. And you have to give Ronaldo credit for scoring 700 goals in his club career. It is amazing."
