Roy Keane makes Premier League prediction as he disagrees with Graeme Souness

Roy Keane doesn't believe the chasing pack will get closer to Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League next season.

Just one point separated City and Liverpool last term as Pep Guardiola's side were crowned champions for a second consecutive season, with Chelsea finishing 18 points behind the runners-up back in third.

Graeme Souness thinks Thomas Tuchel's men could get closer to the top two in the new season, but Keane doesn't agree with him.

"Both Liverpool and Man City will be the outstanding favourites but you’ve got to factor Chelsea into that argument," said Souness.

Keane responded: "I don’t think they will close the gap. I think they’ll be a bit better, they have quality, the recruitment but I think you can’t look beyond Liverpool and Man City (for the title).

"Yeah (Man United are the only team to finish in the top two outside of Liverpool and Man City), where do you want to start? The chat was going so well. The manager will no doubt be given money to spend, the recruits, four or five experienced players have left the club but I think that was a good thing. But I still don’t see United competing with Liverpool and Man City, not just yet."

Souness backed Klopp's to lift the Premier League trophy, telling Sky Bet: "I think Liverpool will win it. They came so close last year."

But Keane believes Guardiola's influence will win the title for City once again.

He said: "Man City. Brilliant players, they’ve obviously improved, an unbelievable striker and they’ve got one of the greatest managers ever in Pep (Guardiola)."
