Roy Keane loses bet with former Ireland kitman on Dublin v Cork

Roy Keane lost a bet with former Ireland kitman Dick Redmond as Dublin eased past Cork in their All-Ireland quarter-final clash on Saturday.

The Manchester United legend was at Croke Park to cheer on his native county as they lost by 0-21 to 0-10 against the Dubs.

Keane was jeered by the crowd as he appeared on the big screen in a red jacket.

And things got worse for the 50-year-old when he was forced to hand over €20 to Redmond, who stepped down as Ireland's kitman two years ago, after the game.

Sharing a photo with Keane on Twitter, Redmond wrote: "Handy money Dublin v Cork."

Redmond went viral in 2015 after dressing up as superman following Ireland's win over Bosnia that secured their place at Euro 2016.

And he previously revealed that Keane approved of his antics, adding that the former midfielder is "a very funny guy".

He said on Soccer AM: ”He does actually. He’s actually a very funny guy and so is Martin. The banter has to be there. It can’t be all serious. But, when the chips are down, it’s serious and everything has to be spot on for Roy and Martin. And that goes right from my end of it to the players’ end of it.”

Meanwhile, many fans took to social media to have their say on Keane being booed by supporters.

One said: "#RoyKeane just got booed at Croke Park."

"Roy Keane being at the dubs v cork game getting booed haha," wrote another.

"Roy Keane is here at Croker. Not even he could save this Cork team," said a third user.
