Roy Keane explains 'excellent' reason for Arsenal unbeaten start amid Man United prediction

Roy Keane has hailed the "excellent" recruitment done by Arsenal this summer that has helped propel Mikel Arteta’s side to the top of the Premier League.

The Gunners are chasing a sixth straight victory against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon as they look to extend their perfect start to the campaign.

Summer signing Gabriel Jesus has been instrumental to Arsenal’s brilliant start, scoring three goals and notching three assists in his five outings so far.

Jesus has provided Arteta with a new focal point in attack while his former Manchester City colleague Oleksandr Zinchenko has enjoyed a brilliant start to his Gunner career and returns to the squad today having missed the last two top-flight games.

Ex-United captain Keane told Sky Sports: "They’ve been brilliant in the games, whatever the opposition in front of them, you can only beat what’s there. A little bit of luck but that will give you confidence; the recruitment has been excellent, brought in a lot of quality, players who have won trophies who are used to coming to Man United and winning - that will only help the young players.

"It's Arsenal’s biggest test so far this season, Man United look strong, [have] momentum, there must be confidence in the United team so a huge test for Arsenal."

Arsenal have the opportunity to create a four-point gap over Man City in second with a win at Old Trafford and Paul Merson has been equally as impressed with his former side's start to the season.

"You’ve got to get excited, they’ve had some bad times recently and they’ve started well," said Merson. "This (vs United) is the first real acid test for me, they’ve played some half-decent teams but you’d expect them to beat those teams.

"The Palace game is one where you’d say a draw. This is the one, you come here today - get beat - you start coming away thinking same old, same old, flat track bullies beat the lesser teams, come to the big boys and get beaten. It’s a massive game - don’t get beaten."
