Roy Keane agrees with Gary Neville on Manchester United turning point under Erik ten Hag

Former Manchester United duo Roy Keane and Gary Neville believe the Reds' transformation in fortunes has been triggered by Erik ten Hag forcing his players to run in sweltering conditions in the aftermath of their 4-0 defeat to Brentford last month.

United, who posted a fourth successive Premier League win for the first time since April 2021 with a 3-1 triumph over table-toppers Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, were cut to pieces by the Bees in just their second game of the season. It was an embarrassing performance from the Reds, leaving them bottom of the table.

The performance and manner of it was so poor that Ten Hag demanded his players to report for an unscheduled training session at Carrington the following day. The Dutchman forced them to run 13.8km - the difference in distance covered by Brentford - in sweltering temperatures.
