Jake Paul and his brother Logan have been called out by 55-year-old boxing legend Roy Jones Jr for a tag-team fight. The former four-weight world champion has called out the Paul brothers for a tag-team boxing fight, and wants Lennox Lewis as his partner.
Roy Jones Jr Calls Out Jake Paul & Brother Logan
It’s fair to say that Jake Paul is a hot topic of conversation right now in the boxing world. ‘The Problem Child’ has been called out by numerous active and ex-fighters, as well as some of the biggest names in the sport such as Artur Beterbiev and Daniel Dubois.
The latest man to call him out is boxing Legend Roy Jones Jr, the former four-weight world champion. However, this isn’t the same as any other call-out Jake Paul has received from other fighters. This one involves his brother Logan Paul as well.
That’s right, Roy Jones Jr has sensationally called out both Jake Paul & Logan Paul for a tag-team fight. Both Paul brothers of course have experience in the boxing ring, with Jake the one now making waves in the professional game.
However, Logan arguably came first to the boxing world, having fought KSI twice, before then sharing the ring with Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition and Dillon Danis last year.
Now, the WWE star has been called out to join his brother Jake in the ring in a tag-team fight against the four-division boxing champion and his partner. Jones Jr insists that he would pick former undisputed heavyweight king Lennox Lewis as his partner.
Roy Jones Jr: ‘I’d Probably Choose Lennox Lewis As My Partner’
Since his showdown last month with Mike Tyson, ‘The Problem Child’ has been called out by a whole host of fighters and ex-pros. Roy Jones Jr is the latest added to that list, with the 55-year-old revealing he could come out of retirement to take on both Paul brothers in a tag-team contest.
Whether this is a serious call-out or just tongue in cheek from the boxing legend remains to be seen. However, if the fight was offered to both he and Lennox Lewis and the money is right, then the fight could well happen.
In a recent interview with Covers, the boxing icon revealed he’d be up for a tag-team fight against Jake Paul & Logan Paul, provided Lewis was in his corner:
“Since we’re in this social media era, the era of influencer boxing, big names make big events. What bigger names are there than Roy Jones and Jake Paul?
“I would most definitely [do a tag-team match against Jake Paul and Logan Paul]. That idea sounds great to me.
“I’d probably choose Lennox Lewis as my partner. Lennox is a big heavyweight and both those brothers are big heavyweights. Lennox was a heavyweight champion, and I was a heavyweight champion. But I was never a true heavyweight. So if I’m going to fight two heavyweights why not give me a heavyweight too?”
The fight is highly unlikely to actually happen, but if it does, it could go down in history as one of the most incredible match-ups in boxing history.
