Rowan Atkinson's wild hotel party leaves dogs wailing and others fearing Russia invasion

Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson has faced backlash after he threw a 'wild' party for his partner's 40th birthday.

The bash was said to be so loud it could be heard from over four miles away and caused two dogs to run away in fright.

Other nearby residents said they feared that Russia had invaded due to the fireworks at the bash on Saturday night.

Rowan, 67, hosted the party for his partner Louise Ford at 18th century mansion, Lucknam Park Hotel, in Wiltshire.

The lavish venue had warned nearby neighbours well in advance about the celebrations, but Rowan's party still left some residents fuming, according to The Telegraph.

The publication reports that the residents of nearby Corsham and Box Hill 'inundated' Lucknam Park Hotel with complaints.

Pet owner, Terri Freeland, 66, claimed her two dogs were so frightened by the racket of 'Mr Bean’s shindig' that they ran away from home.

“On Bonfire night and New Year's Eve you expect fireworks and loud music and take care of your dogs," she told the Telegraph.

"On a Saturday evening in May I can most certainly say you absolutely do not expect it.

"I'm not even a local resident - I live on Box Hill, and there is a huge valley in front of us where the hotel is. It completely startled me and was horrible. I just didn't know what to do".

Luckily, Terri's beloved pooches made their way back to their home in the early hours of the morning after Rowan's party died down.

Other nearby residents reportedly feared Russian leader Vladimir Putin had extended his war in Ukraine to Britain due to the noise.

Another unimpressed neighbour, who was in bed when the fireworks kicked off, said she initially thought that the local RAF base was being bombed.

"It actually sounded like bombs going on at first, but then you heard the sprinkling of the fireworks and it suddenly made sense," she told Mail Online.

"I've been to bonfire nights of course, so you know what they sound like, but when that kicked off the other night it was incredibly loud. It happened just after 10pm too - which was later when they said it would be. Thankfully my one-year-old son didn't wake up."

She added: "It sounds quite distasteful but I really did think when it started off 'oh god the Russians are here'. It was that loud."

The Mirror has reached out to Mr Atkinson’s representatives for further comment on this story.

Lucknam Park Hotel have declined to comment.
