Viewers of The One Show were left disappointed after North East actor Rowan Atkinson appeared on the programme. Many of those watching, having been excited to see Mr Bean star on the show, said the interview was "wasted".
The 67-year-old comedian, who was born in Consett, County Durham, was on the show on Wednesday and was live in the studio alongside Top Gear host Chris Harris. The pair chatted to hosts Jermaine Jenas and Angela Scanlon about their latest projects, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The Blackadder star was there to talk about his new Netflix series Man vs Bee, which is being released tomorrow (June 24). In the new comedy, Atkinson plays a bumbling father who lands a new job as a house-sitter at a luxurious mansion.

But viewers of The One Show on the BBC were left disappointed as they thought the star was not given much airtime. The interview was described as "awkward" and some called for "more professional presenters". Some even blamed the hosts for "talking over" Atkinson, while others felt his slot wasn’t long enough.
@GforGinner tweeted: "I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more uncomfortable guest than Rowan Atkinson. The introvert is coming out, clearly not an experience he’s enjoying. #TheOneShow." @mimeartist added: "It doesn’t help that he has plenty to say but they’ve not given him any time and keep trying to cut him off."
Another fan said the opportunity to interview the "incredible, talented Rowan Atkinson" was "wasted". And one viewer wrote on Twitter: "You have Rowan Atkinson. TALK TO HIM!! #theoneshow."
