Rotten, worm-infested and covered in fungus: What could happen to your body if you accidentally drink juice made from such mangoes?

Mango lovers across India were left concerned after food safety officials in Gujarat seized a large stock of rotten and worm-infested mangoes that were allegedly meant to be used for juice production.

The incident has once again raised questions about food safety standards and the potential health risks associated with consuming spoiled fruits and fruit-based products.

Officials from the food safety department conducted an inspection at a juice manufacturing unit in Mehsana, Gujarat, where they allegedly discovered mangoes showing visible signs of decay, fungal growth and insect infestation. The stock was confiscated before it could be processed and distributed to consumers.
