Sunderland are to offer Scotland new boy Ross Stewart a new deal.
The big striker, 25, has been called up by Steve Clarke for the first time for Thursday's friendly with Poland and next week’s trip to Wales or Austria.
Former Ross County and St Mirren star Stewart has forced his way on to the international scene after a 22-goal haul so far in League One.
Sunderland are aware of growing interest in their prize asset who is only under contract until the summer of 2023.
The Black Cats are still pushing for the play-offs but have indicated they want to open talks with Stewart when he returns from international duty.
It remains to be seen if Sunderland can get a deal over the line for the rising talent.
Swansea expressed an interest in January but several of their rivals are also watching Stewart’s situation very closely.
