Rosie O'Donnell has apologised to Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra for 'offending' her.
The seasoned actress, 59, mistook the wife of Nick Jonas, 39, for the daughter of self-help guru Deepak Chopra - because they have the same last name.
The Indian-American author, 75, is an advocate of alternative medicine and a prominent figure in the New Age movement.
But he's nothing to do with Priyanka.
Explaining her confusion, Rosie took to TIikTok saying: "So when I said, ‘Hi, Nick Jonas. You were great in Kingdom and ‘Hi, [Priyanka]. I know your dad.’ She goes, ‘You do? Who’s my dad?’ And I’m like, ‘Deepak.'”
“She’s like, ‘No, and Chopra is a common name.’ … I felt so embarrassed."
The awkward exchange happened at celeb eatery Nobu in Malibu, however Rosie's video seemed to make things worse.
The actress, who was known for her outspoken nature on talk show The View, went on to ask her followers if they also thought Priyanka was related to the guru, before concluding:“Nick Jonas, I apologise and to the Chopra wife, I apologise too.”
But Rosie's choice words caused outage among fans, with one replying, saying: “Maybe learn her name if you’re going to apologise.”
“Her name is Priyanka,” pointed out another.
Seeming to read the room, Rosie posted yet another video, in what at first seemed like another apology.
She said: “So I’m reading the comments about my [interaction with] Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, who I mistakenly thought was Deepak’s daughter.
“People thought that she was rude. She wasn’t rude, it was just awkward. I’m sure she gets sick of that. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
"According to the comments, a lot of people thought that too but she’s apparently a very well-known actress and more famous than him, people were saying. So I’m sure it felt weird to her, to begin with.
“Anyway, Priyanka is her name. Priyanka,” Rosie repeated.
“I hope I’m pronouncing that right. I just want to apologise to her and to everyone who thought that it was really inappropriate of me. Sorry, sometimes I f**k up. I did at Nobu.”
Priyanka's father Dr. Ashok Chopra, died in June 2013.
The actress and her husband Nick, 29, recently became parents to a daughter, who they welcomed via surrogate.
The Jonas Brother star announced the happy news on Instagram, saying: "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate.
"We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family."
Nick is the younger brother of Joe Jonas, who is married to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.
The couple have a one-year-old daughter, Willa, and are said to be expecting again.
