Rose tells Macarthur to bring cup final mindset

Macarthur striker Lachlan Rose has challenged his teammates to adopt a cup-final mentality as they seek to push into the A-League Men finals race.

With just three games of the regular season remaining, Macarthur are three points adrift of the top six in 11th spot.

Their run-in pits them against Wellington and Melbourne Victory after this weekend's trip to the Newcastle Jets.

Missing the top six would be a blow for the Bulls after they claimed their first piece of silverware when they lifted the Australia Cup earlier this season.

And Rose says they must channel the mindset which delivered them cup glory if they are to fulfil their finals hopes.

"I know when we stick together as a group we can achieve anything," Rose told AAP.

"It happened with the Cup, so what's going to stop us with this?

"These three games are pretty much cup finals for us.

"We know we can't slip up, they (Newcastle) are chasing it as well, Victory are still in the hunt and Wellington won't want to lose either."

Rose has scored in his last two starts after making a return from ankle surgery and missing a large chunk of the season.

The Bulls, however, are winless in their last four outings and suffered a late collapse last week as Western Sydney struck late to seal a draw.

Rose said the draw against the Wanderers felt like a defeat but the hardworking striker has welcomed the task of hauling a Bulls side into the finals race with star duo Daniel Arzani and Ulises Davila sidelined.

"I'm actually more confident than ever before," he said.

"Your job as a forward is to score goals and I think I'm used to it - that's when you have to step up to the plate.

"You need the boys around you as well to help you, it needs everyone to come together."
