Adding more beans to your diet is very old news to many lifelong vegetarians and devotees of Rose Elliot’s bean books. She was their advocate long before Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall got in a TV kitchen (Beans, beans, the more you eat, the more your … meals are healthier and cheaper, 17 December).
