Rory McIlroy is being well backed to come from off the pace for a huge payday as the prestigious FedEx Playoffs reach their climax at East Lake in Atlanta this week.

With Will Zalatoris withdrawing due to injury, only 29 players remain in the hunt for the lucrative top prize of $18m and the FedEx Cup handicap system means Scottie Scheffler will start the tour finale with a two-shot advantage on the chasing pack.

That means the World Number 1 is a short 2/1 shot with BoyleSports to be crowned champion, with Patrick Cantlay (10/3) and Xander Schauffele (13/2) hoping to bridge respective deficits of two and four shots.
