After an enthralling final round at The K Club, it ended with Rory McIlroy holing a 30-footer for eagle at the 72nd hole to force a playoff with Sweden's Joakim Lagergren.
The pair both fired a six-under 66 to finish at 17-under, two clear of Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Angel Hidalgo, with McIlroy going on to defeat Lagergren at the third playoff hole to secure a second Irish Open title at The K Club.
