Rory McIlroy and Seamus Power pocketed $1million between them in prize money at the US Open.

McIlroy, who was chasing a fifth major, finished four shots behind winner Matt Fitpzatrick after shooting a final round 69 at the County Club in Brookline.

The Hollywood native needed a near perfect final day to stay in contention, but he endured a rollercoaster round of five birdies and four bogeys to finish two under for the tournament, reports Belfast Live.
