The head of Britain’s biggest police force said “painful stories” will emerge as work progresses to get rid of hundreds of corrupt officers. Sir Mark Rowley on Wednesday appealed to the people of London not to lose heart over “painful” and “ghastly” new crimes by Met officers that will be uncovered as he tries to clean up his force.
The Met Commissioner said he was determined to root out rogue officers and that progress was already being made in trying to uncover new cases.
