Rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk made a bold statement about the New England Patriots’ quarterback room when speaking with media members.
“All those guys put in lots of work that nobody sees,” Polk said, via NESN.com’s Kayla Gregoire. “All those quarterbacks do things that’s unordinary. They have things in their duffle bag that not many other people have, and they’re very special. I believe we got the best quarterback room out here.”
Polk is riding high with confidence in the group after a few practices.
The rookie second-round pick knows a thing or two about good offenses considering he was part of an explosive receivers group at the University of Washington.
While catching passes from first-round pick quarterback Michael Penix Jr., he tallied 69 catches for 1,159 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He recorded five catches for 122 yards and a touchdown in a playoff matchup against Texas.
Now, he is looking to continue his explosiveness at the NFL level. He trusts the Patriots’ quarterbacks, which include Jacoby Brissett, Drake Maye, Joe Milton and Bailey Zappe.
Calling them the “best out there” is certainly a bold statement given that the room is mostly made up of new and unproven faces. It’s still encouraging to hear Polk speak so highly of his teammates.
The hope now is that the group can back up what he said.
