Ronny Deila's post Celtic journey could reach elite endgame as he rivals Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for top European job

Ronny Deila could be on the move this summer as Standard Liege's chief admits the former Celtic boss' departure can't be ruled out.

The Norwegian has impressed in the top flight of Belgian football and is pushing his side towards a top four spot. It's attracted attention and Club Brugge - who won the title last season but currently sit 19 points off leaders Genk after competing in this year's Champions League - have reportedly identified Deila and former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Scott Parker's calamitous reign.

That's according to Voetbal, who claim Celtic's former boss is an 'important candidate', but 'getting the coach loose' at Standard will not go smoothly. Pierre Locht, Standard Liege CEO, has taken stock ahead of what could be a busy summer, as he admits he can't guarantee fans their boss would say. He told Laatste Nieuws of Deila: "We can't completely rule out that he will leave if a great opportunity presents itself to him.

"But Ronny is fully involved in the Standard project and our relationship is excellent and transparent. He is an architect and he sees that it is possible to build something beautiful here.

Brought into Celtic Park in 2014, the 47-year-old stayed until 2016 before moving on to Valerenga and New York City. He started his current role in Belgium last summer and a move to Brugge could see him return to European club competition for the first time since leaving Glasgow.
