Ronnie Turner, son of Ike and Tina Turner, dead at 62

Ronnie Turner, a singer and youngest son of rock and soul idols Tina Turner and Ike Turner, has died. He was 62.

Tina Turner shared the news of her son’s death Friday in an Instagram post accompanied by a solemn black-and-white photo of the 83-year-old singer with her eyes closed.

“Ronnie, you left the world far too early,” she wrote. “In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son.”

His wife Afida Turner described her husband as a “true angel, huge soul, highly spiritual” in her own Instagram post Friday.

“I did the best to the end this time I was no[t] able to save you. Love you for... 17 years this is very very very bad and I am very mad,” she wrote, alongside several candid photos of her husband.

“This is a tragedy ... So unfair.”

Law enforcement officials received a call saying Turner was having trouble breathing outside his home on Thursday morning, TMZ reported. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics..

The celebrity gossip site said Turner had cancer and experienced numerous health issues through the years.

Turner, the second of Tina Turner’s biological sons, performed with both his parents through the years and was also a member of the band Manufactured Funk, ET.com said. He played a musician in “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” the 1993 biopic based on his mother’s memoir, “I, Tina.”

His death follows the 2018 suicide of his older brother, Craig Turner, at age 59.

Ike Turner, a rock 'n' roll trailblazer who discovered Tina Turner in the 1950s, died in 2007.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, mother and two brothers, Ike Turner Jr., 64, and Michael, 63.
