Ronan Keating worries about son Jack in Love Island villa 'with all those other guys'

Ronan Keating has admitted he's worried about his son Jack in the Love Island villa "with all those other guys".

Social media marketer Jack, 23, is one of a handful of boys shaking up the show after they entered Casa Amor, and got grafting the original girls.

His Boyzone member dad, 45, admitted he was nervous watching his son on the screen.

Speaking on The One Show on Monday after Jack's first episode aired over the weekend, the radio presenter conceded he had been an "absolute mess" watching it, and his wife and Jack's stepmother Storm is "doing better" than him.

“We all miss him in the house, we really do. His little brother Cooper and his little sister Coco and Missy, we all miss him.”

Ronan went on: “His episode last night, he was very quiet, he seemed a little bit nervous, which is understandable, I guess.

“I wish him the best. I hope he does OK. He’s got such a big heart and he’s a real softie so I’m just worried about him in there with all those other guys.”

The Picture of You singer also said he hoped the public would warm to "shy" Jack, gushing: "He's my boy and I just want to protect him."

The singer revealed Jack was in Spain, where Love Island is set, for two weeks in lockdown, and his family haven't been able to speak to him.

"They take their phones off them and so on. It’s been silence and then he appeared on the TV last night and it was really scary,” Ronan said, laughing.

So far the show has seen Jack and Gemma Owen, the son of famous footballer Michael Owen, chat by the pool about their families.

After Gemma quizzed Jack on his dad, the 23-year-old admitted he was Ronan's son, with the pair both chatting about their fathers.

The dressage rider then went on to explain how important family is to her, with Jack agreeing: "I'm very family orientated. It would be something I’d definitely look for in a girl. I’ve got a big crazy family back home."

Speaking about that conversation on The One Show to Jermaine Jenas and Alex Jones, Ronan admitted he was shocked to hear Jack say he had retired.

He said: "He did drop the line that I was retired, that I was shocked about!

"I nearly fell off me chair! What? I'm doing The One Show next week, I'm in York tonight!"

He then confirmed: "No I'm definitely not retired!"

Jermaine went on to tease the singer about possibly becoming family with Michael Owen, with Ronan joking they could become "out-laws".

Jack was mostly absent from last night's episode, with plenty of drama unfolding as Andrew strayed from Tasha, and kissed new girl Coco.

Dami, who seemed to be happily coupled up with Indiyah, locked lips with Summer, while Davide who appeared to be getting back on track with actress Ekin-Sue kissed Coco.
