Ronan Keating's ex-wife Yvonne Connolly has responded to cruel comments after her son Jack Keating joined Love Island as a Casa Amor bombshell on Sunday night.
Jack, 23, who works as a social media manager in Dublin, joined Casa Amor as one of six new boys hoping to find love with one of the original girls - and it looks as though Jack has his eyes set on getting to know Gemma Owen after the pair quickly bonded over their famous fathers.
After Jack appeared on screen alongside the other five hopeful boys, Love Island viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with many claiming that Jack didn't fit the bill compared to the other lads.
While some claimed that Jack only bagged a place in the villa because of her famous dad, others mocked his 'pale Irish skin' and ginger locks.
Following the cruel comments, Jack's mum Yvonne, has hit back at Love Island viewers, asking them to be kind.
"After the teaser I’m looking forward to watching Jack tonight on Love Island," she penned on Instagram.
“Thank you so much for all your comments. All positive (can’t say the same for other platforms).
“So many people wishing Jack well and rooting for him. It means so much. My heart”.
It comes as former Love Island contestant Shaughna Phillips predicted that Jack is a match made in heaven for brunette bombshell Gemma.
The reality star, 28, revealed she thinks Gemma and Jack could be perfect for one another - thanks to their famous fathers.
While Gemma, 19, was slow to divulge her dad is renowned footballer Michael Owen, Jack, 23, wasted no time in letting the girls in on the fact that Boyzone singer Ronan Keating is his father.
And Shaughna thinks the pair could bond over growing up with a famous parent, after watching them chat on Sunday night's episode.
Speaking on Monday with OK! Magazine in an Instagram live, Shaughna said: "Gemma was chatting with Jack, they have similar backgrounds.
Not everyone has been brought up with a celebrity dad. They could relate to each other."
Shaughna went on to say Gemma has grown on her and she might be interested in Jack because he wouldn't be interested in dating her just because of her famous connections.
She said: "Gemma has 100 per cent grown on me. She's a little bit quiet, cagey. She's just mature and we didn't expect it from a 19-year-old girl."
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2.
