Ronan Keating has opened up about his son Jack going on Love Island and said he is “so proud” of the 23-year-old, who has entered Casa Amor as a 'bombshell.'

The Boyzone star revealed the news to the crowd at his concert in the UK on Friday night. The proud dad said he is “very excited” and will be tuning in to watch the dating series every night to see how his eldest son gets on in his quest for love.

Each group is then introduced to a new set of potential matches to see if their “head will turn” away from their current partner, which is sure to stir up plenty of drama for the contestants.

While performing a concert on Friday night, proud dad Ronan shared his opinion on his son going on the show.

He told the crowd of concertgoers in the UK: "So, I’ve got something that I’ve been wanting to share with you since the start of the tour and it’s very, very exciting because my boy, my eldest boy Jack Keating has been hiding away in Spain for the last couple of weeks, preparing himself for a certain house.

“My boy Jack is going into Love Island, he’s in Casa Amor and I have been s******g myself, I haven’t been able to share anything with you but now I can. I'm very excited about it. He’s gonna be amazing," he added.

Ronan described Jack as having the "biggest heart in the world" and that he is very proud of him. The Boyzone singer also shared a throwback snap on Instagram over the weekend showing his likeness to his son Jack.

Ronan joked about the uncanny similarity between the father and son, writing: "Which ones Jack !!! Then and now @loveisland"

His followers took to the comments to agree, with one writing: "It’s literally like looking back 20 years."

Love Island continues on Sunday night at 9pm on Virgin Media Two.
