Ronan Keating bids emotional farewell to 'one of the good guys' and friend of 20 years in touching post

Ronan Keating has paid an emotional tribute to his friend and chauffeur of 20 years, David William Benstead.

Taking to his Instagram to share an image of David, Ronan wrote: "My friend thank you for always getting me home safely for 20 years. You always had my back. You will be missed. One of the good guys. God bless ya."

The Boyzone singer took to his Instagram stories on Friday night to say goodbye to his friend of many years as he thanked him for his years of service.

He said: "I guess Jesus needs a chauffeur. Good night my friend 20 years getting me home safe. You will be missed Dave".

People were quick to express their sympathies to all those who knew Dave and shared their memories of him.

One person wrote: "So sorry to hear this. I know how much he meant to you".

Another said: "Soo sorry, remember many times seeing Dave drive you and looked out for you sending love to you all and his family".

"Such a genuine lovely man, he was a great driver Rip Dave," wrote a third.

While a fourth said: "Sorry to hear your sad news Dave always looked after you so well and was so patient Thinking of you, his family and friends at this difficult time".

The news comes just hours after Ronan and his family said their' heart hurts' as they said an emotional goodbye to Missy Keating as she set off on her move to Australia.

The model, 21, who took part in RTE's Dancing with the Stars earlier this year previously revealed her plans to relocate to Sydney to pursue a career in acting.

Leading the heartfelt goodbyes to the Dubliner today, emotional dad Ronan said: "Off she goes. Australia watch out Missy Keating is on her way.

Posting an image of his oldest daughter hugging his youngest kids, Cooper and Coco, before heading off, the former Boyzone star added: "Heart hurts so much. We are all going to miss her like crazy.

"I'm so excited for ya Moo moo. Massive thank you to all the team Virgin Atlantic for taking such great care."

Sharing a video from their last night together in their London home before she set off on Thursday, Ronan posted a clip of Missy, and her brother Jack, in the kitchen helping to prepare a family meal.

He captioned the footage: "My Baby girl is off to Oz. So excited for her but my heart is broken. She will be so missed. Last supper she requested Wagyu. Only the best for Moo."

Ronan's wife Storm, also wrote a farewell message and said: "When you let them go. So many tears but so excited for you Moo Missy Keating.

"You are the most amazing young woman and so ready now to take on the world.

The Aussie native added: "You have such a wonderful adventure ahead of you and I look forward to watching it all unfold - you deserve it.

"We're going to miss you sooooo much, this house just won't feel the same without your glowing energy and smiling face in it. Love you."
