Cristiano Ronaldo tells Manchester United fans he is staying with goal celebration, claims Gary Neville
Gary Neville believes Cristiano Ronaldo has told the Old Trafford faithful that he will be staying at Manchester United this season.
The club’s top scorer slammed home his 24th goal of the season from the spot to put his side 2-0 up against Brentford just after the hour mark. Just before performing his famous ‘Siu’ celebration at the corner flag, Ronaldo looked towards the fans, pointed to himself then to the pitch.

Reports have suggested the 37-year-old could leave his two-year United deal early upon the arrival of new manager Erik ten Hag and the club’s Champions League qualification failure. However, Neville believes Ronaldo has now put those fears to bed with a pointed goal celebration.
Thomas Frank praises Manchester United fans for Christian Eriksen gesture
Brentford boss Thomas Frank paid tribute to the United fans after they gave Christian Eriksen a warm welcome at Old Trafford.
Eriksen was back in action at Old Trafford for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark in the European Championship last summer. The 30-year-old signed for Brentford on a short-term deal in January and has been in excellent form since then, impressing again on Monday night despite United's 3-0 victory.
Eriksen had two early corners for the Bees in front of the Stretford End, one on either side of the pitch, and on both occasions he received a standing ovation from those fans nearby, something which Frank appreciated.
