When Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera met with the media Wednesday, on day two of minicamp, you had to know he’d field questions regarding defensive end Chase Young.
Right out of the gate, Rivera was asked about Young.
“He looked good,” Rivera answered. “He really did. Real excited about it. Looks like he’s got some explosion back, which was one of the really neat things in terms of watching him, his get off. He looks like he’s more confident.”
Young returned to Ashburn this week for the mandatory minicamp after not attending the voluntary OTAs. He was working out with Colorado as he did last offseason while he was rehabbing from knee surgery.
Young said Tuesday his knee was ready, and looked explosive in drills, while wearing a brace on his surgically repaired knee.
The Commanders wrap up minicamp Thursday and have one OTA practice next week before breaking for training camp in July.
