Chelsea's want-away striker Romelu Lukaku produced his best ever football under the guidance of Antonio Conte, so it's a surprise to hear what he has done amid constant Inter Milan speculation.
football.london understands Lukaku has asked his lawyer to check the possibility of a possible return to the San Siro, less than 12 months after making the move from Milan to London. Lukaku, 29, ended the season in the way he started the 2021/22 campaign on form. However, the unsettled nature of his club-record move last summer prompted fiery comments during the season which has put a return to Inter back on the cards. football.london understands that the Belgium international were to hold talks with Todd Boehly and the higher-ups ahead of making his final decision. Whether or not these talks have happened or not seem to have had no impact on the striker who reportedly wants nothing to do with current manager Thomas Tuchel 'anymore' according to the latest Italian reports via Sport Witness.
He's even gone as far as agreeing to a significant pay cut that makes this Inter return more likely despite the substantial figures that his new lawyer based agent has to mediate in order to find a positive outcome for the striker. However, if the latest rumours from Italy are to be believed, then Chelsea's soon-to-be-former number 9 may need to keep his options open if he is to seal a move away this summer in some capacity.

This is because as per various outlets like CalcioNews24, Inter are struggling to meet the loan financial demands with the Blues now shifting their focus to Bayern Munich who they view as their preferred destination, taking into account the reluctant nature of Internationale's bid.
Other reports in the foreign media are even going as far to say that Robert Lewandowski is being eyed by Simone Inzaghi's side as a cheaper alternative overall whilst Barcelona if able to, just like Bayern, despite their own financial woes, may even make their audacious attempts at prising the Belgium international away from England.
Something the current club-record signing in SW6 may not be against, considering what he had to say on Barca in a previous Sky Italia interview when he came out with the explosive comments mid-season.
"In my opinion, there are three absolute top teams in football - Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Every player dreams of playing for one of these teams one day. So I thought if I ever had that possibility, I would sign a new contract with Inter and then go there." he said back in January 2022.
"But it didn't happen, so I told myself that there is only one team where I could possibly see myself - Chelsea. I wasn't thinking about going there, but at one point they came in for me and so I asked (Inter boss Simone) Inzaghi to leave."
One destination that Romelu himself has already ruled out is Tottenham as according to Calciomercato, they have reported that despite the close relationship with Conte, the 29-year-old wants to end his Premier League nightmare in full meaning a move abroad is the only option for him. This isn't really much of a blow for Spurs considering how settled star man Harry Kane is now with Champions League football secured for the Lilywhites ahead of 2022/23.
