Romelu Lukaku has already told Chelsea why Eden Hazard is the right 'option' amid attacking woes

Romelu Lukaku has already told Chelsea why Eden Hazard is the right 'option' to consider for a late January swoop due to the 'formidable' nature of the winger.

Hazard, 30, has just two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract with Los Blancos, who are reportedly open to selling the winger with Newcastle having been the most advanced at this stage.

Unfortunately for the North East based club, the La Liga flop had initially rejected a proposal from the Saudi run Toon Army despite reports in Spain claiming that a deal had been 'accepted'.

For more context on this said offer, Spanish publication Nacional claims that Newcastle have made a €40m (£33m) offer plus another €10m (£8.3m) in ‘variables’ to attempt to bring Hazard back to the Premier League from Real.

Furthermore, the €50m (£41.3m) offer from Newcastle ‘met the expectations’ of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who accepted their offer.

The 30-year-old has made it known in the past that he would be eager to return to west London one day and this train of thought would have gone a long way to explain why he rejected the Toon Army's proposal to lead their rebuild.

But it doesn't seem likely at this moment that Marina Granovskaia and Roman Abramovich are any closer to offering Hazard a way out of his Spanish nightmare at this current moment, football.london understands.

Consequently, it's not a real surprise to see the player in question being tipped to 'wait' this month until the summer before making his next decision on what he wants to do with the rest of his illustrious footballing career.

This is according to Spanish outlet Marca who has titled their latest update on the situation 'Hazard prefers to wait' when translated to English.

The report goes on to add that he doesn't have too many 'proposals' on the table to ponder with.

Marca wrote: "His performance has declined since that fatal kick from Meunier and, despite constant rumours, he is not an option for Chelsea, with whom he has a very close relationship. Nor for the new Newcastle, which is looking for another profile to try to save the category.

"And, of course, the attacker's high salary does not make it easy for him to fit into a hypothetical destination."

So, what now for a rather downbeat Thomas Tuchel, who needs attacking reinforcements to help reinvigorate his sides' fortunes in front of goal.

"Because we are tired. We are mentally tired and physically tired. You can see it in our performance. It's as easy as that," Tuchel admitted after the Brighton draw when quizzed about the attacking deficiencies in the side.

The Lukaku conundrum regarding how to play to his strengths came to the fore during the clash on the south coast after his multiple altercations with Hakim Ziyech, but the striker in his own words knows why Hazard is the right 'option' if Tuchel is to get a better tune out of his attacking set up.

He said back in May 2021: “Eden Hazard is a 100 per cent formidable player, he is a player different from the rest."

A difference maker is something Chelsea could really do with now with the usual creative spark Mason Mount out of form, so a player like Hazard could help share the burden in a health sense if the Blues were to make an aggressive approach in the remaining 12 days of this transfer window for their much loved club legend.
