Travellers set up camp at Brislington Park and Ride site

A group of travellers have set up camp in one of Bristol's Park and Ride sites in the past few days. The encampment is made up of five caravans which have been spread across a wide area of the car park.

Small outdoor huts have also been left outside for dogs, with some pictured tied to a lamppost outside one of the caravans. Gas canisters can be seen next to some of the other huts.

Jos Clark, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Brislington West, confirmed on Facebook that Bristol City Council visited the encampment this morning (Monday, April 4) to issue trespass notices to the travellers.

In a statement shared on Facebook, Ms Clark said: "There is currently a small encampment in the Brislington Park & Ride, Bath Road, Bristol. The encampment is made up of five caravans which are spread across a wide area within the car park.

"Bristol City Council visited the encampment this morning to issue trespass notices."

As of this evening (Monday, April 4), the travellers were still present on the park and ride site despite being handed trespass notices earlier in the day.
