Simion, known for his controversial views and support for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, advocates for Romanian pride and interests. He has faced bans in Moldova and Ukraine over security concerns.

Political consultant Cristian Andrei highlighted the importance of the diaspora in the election outcome, emphasizing the potential for populist shifts due to widespread dissatisfaction and economic challenges in Romania.

Ciolacu aims to attract Romanians back to the country, focusing on economic development and a better quality of life. Other key candidates include Elena Lasconi, Mircea Geoana, and Nicolae Ciuca, each bringing their own perspectives and priorities to the race.
