
Three surviving stretches of Roman London have been officially listed as historic monuments - but don’t try to look for them as they have been re-buried beneath the city’s streets for their own protection.
The riverside walls and wooden wharfs surviving from the third century when the capital was an outpost of the Roman Empire have all been added to the National Heritage List for England as scheduled monuments.
