Radio star Roman Kemp was forced to say sorry to This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Dermot O’Leary as he had the pair in stitches.
Roman was on the ITV show with fellow Capital presenters Sian Welby and Chris Stark this week when he went into detail about the casual footwear he was sporting.
Showing off his green sliders, Roman explained that he had a strange moment when he was leaving the house that day and forgot his shoes. He said: “To be honest the whole weekend has been a massive blur and then I forgot my shoes as I left my house this morning."
As Holly and Dermot struggled to contain their laughter, Dermot said: "You forgot your shoes but remembered them."
Roman then replied: "Well these were at work but I jumped into the car and genuinely forgot my shoes." As Holly went on, she highlighted the fact Roman was wearing a pair of socks under his shoes, suggesting it was a style error as she said: "Well, what's the etiquette on socks and sandals?"
"Not that!," Dermot roared as Roman then said: "I apologise but it was the best I could do." Admitting that she'd just assumed Roman was following a trend she wasn't part of, Holly then said to him: "I genuinely didn't think twice when you were wearing that. I just thought 'this is what the kids are wearing'."
Roman, 30, was appearing alongside his co-stars to talk about Capital's Summertime Ball at Wembley at the weekend.
Roman gave a brief description of the atmosphere behind the scenes as he said: "It's a good mess. I've never been backstage at a ball where something is going wrong ever and that says something.
"I've been doing this for nearly a decade, and I've never seen it go wrong. Touch wood it doesn't happen. It works like clockwork, we're the best at doing this. When artists come to our show, they lean in and go, 'Everything is ready to go!' 'Everything is done and slick'."
