Roman Kemp accidentally told Kate Middleton she 'looked fit' during Jubilee party

Roman Kemp opened up about the embarrassing moment he told Kate Middleton she 'looked fit'.

The Radio star, 29, appeared on Loose Women to talk about mental health as well as his impressive television career.

He spoke about hosting the Platinum Party earlier this year when he had the amazing opportunity to attend a party at Buckingham Palace.

"I ended up hosting the Jubilee and it was amazing," he told the panellists. "It was such an incredible day. Afterward, they did have a party inside Buckingham Palace. It was an honour to be there.

"What was brilliant is that the palace also invited all the camera crew. Everyone was there and that was really really fantastic.

"And as I was walking across the room, I kind of bumped in at this point and Princess Catherine was there and all of a sudden, I've seen her and she's gone, 'Oh, hi. Roman, you look great'."

He got nervous and stumbled, responding to her: "Oh yeah, you look really fit."

The Loose Women panellists and audience members burst into laughter at the extremely awkward moment and he was 'mortified'.

Meanwhile, Roman has been busy preparing for the Christmas holidays with his parents Martin Kemp and Shirlie Kemp.

He revealed he doesn't plan on buying them presents as it will be difficult.

Roman told The Mirror: "To be honest, my dad is the hardest person to buy for!"

The 29-year-old is the son of Spandau Ballet bassist, Martin Kemp, 61, and Shirlie Kemp, 60, of Pepsi & Shirlie fame.

"Every year with us, we love being around each other," he shared. "We're such a tight knit family. But this year, we've all decided we're not going to do it with presents."

Roman explained why there will be no presents under the Kemp tree this year, conscious he was "sounding very virtue signalling" but believes "it's important". He said: "This year we're not doing any presents. We're all gonna pick pick a charity each or a cause each and you can donate to that and that's the present."

The former I'm A Celeb campmate acknowledged his privileged position to be able to do this, saying: "To be honest, we're very fortunate people, we're lucky that we have each other and we're able to do nice things. For us it's a moment where we're practising gratitude, so we're very grateful for that."
