Serie A outfit AS Roma are pushing to sign Leeds United right-back Rasmus Kristensen this summer. That’s according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims the two parties are in 'advanced talks' over a deal.
The report says the deal would be a loan, with Roma hoping to land the Denmark international over the next few days. It is understood that Kristensen voiced his intention to stay at Elland Road this summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
But, the opportunity to link up with Jose Mourinho’s Europa League finalists and continue his career in the top flight would more than likely be a tempting proposition for any player. The report states that Roma had an interest in Kristensen last summer before his move from Red Bull Salzburg to Leeds and they have chosen to rekindle their interest in him this time around.

It’s fair to say Kristensen’s first season in West Yorkshire did not go to plan as he struggled for form and traction in the Premier League. The Dane didn’t lack game time, but he couldn’t provide the performances Leeds had hoped for and he eventually lost his place in the side at right-back to Luke Ayling.
Kristensen actually ended the season playing as a centre-back, but the Whites couldn’t dig out the results needed to stay in the Premier League. His struggles at Leeds haven’t been enough to put Roma off, it seems, and the Stadio Olimpico outfit are in talks to sign another Leeds player, too.
Fresh reports from Fabrizio Romano this morning suggest a deal is close to being struck for Diego Llorente, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the Italian side. The two clubs had an agreement to make his move permanent this summer, but according to various reports, Roma have been unable to meet the €18m price tag.
As such, the pair have been renegotiating and it seems a new loan deal could be on the cards. Leo Hjelde has also been linked with a move to Serie A this weekend, with Salernitana being linked to the young Norwegian by Corriere dello Sport.
