Rodgers 'confident' of Celtic January signings, reveals behind the scenes work

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is confident of adding to his squad this month.

The Parkhead side sit 13 points clear of city rivals Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership, having lost just two games in all competitions so far this campaign.

Despite spending big in the summer on the likes of Auston Trusty, Arne Engels, and Adam Idah, Rodgers still wants to strengthen his squad before the end of the January transfer window.

"As you can imagine, it's never as simple when you actually then get to the point of getting the player that you want because there's various reasons why his club would want to maybe keep them.

"But I'm fairly confident by the end, we can add that extra freshness and competition to the squad."

There has been little to no movement regarding incomings at Celtic this month, although the club have been continually linked with several players.

The likes of Raul Moro and Kieran Tierney have been mentioned as potential options for the Scottish Premiership champions as Rodgers looks to beef up his squad ahead of a pivotal second half of the season.

All eyes for now, though, are on Saturday's Scottish Cup tie against Kilmarnock, as Derek McInnes' takes his side up the M77, with a place in the fifth round up for grabs.
