The incident took place on the night of March 31, where shots were fired during a verbal altercation among a group of men, leading to non-life-threatening injuries to three men in their 20s and a 17-year-old woman.
Upon his arrest, Rod, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was taken to Manatee County Jail. Authorities identified him as a convicted felon, a claim that his attorneys have publicly refuted on social media. The attorneys stated that there was no evidence of wrongdoing and denied the allegations of Rod being in possession of ammunition. They emphasized that a simple check of public records would have shown that he was not a convicted felon. Subsequently, the prosecutor and judge agreed that the evidence did not support the charge, leading to his release on the same day.
Regarding a previous incident in 2022, Rod Wave was arrested for domestic battery by strangulation after an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend. His attorneys described it as a misunderstanding between a couple that led to his arrest.
