Sir Rod Stewart has shared a sweet throwback snap of him and his two big brothers who sadly died just weeks apart.
Yesterday, the Maggie May singer announced that his big brother Bob sadly passed away just weeks after the 77-year-old lost his other sibling Don who died aged 94 in September.
And taking to Instagram tonight, Rod shared a sweet snap of the three brothers in their younger days, playing football - a passion they all shared together.
He wrote: "When footballers were footballers, RIP Don and Bob."
Announcing the news of Bob's death just the day after he played his gig at Glasgow's OVO Hydro, Rod wrote: "It’s with great sadness that I announce the loss of my brother Bob last night, who joins my brother Don on the great football pitch in the sky.
"I’ve lost two of my best mates in the space of two months. RIP Don and Bob ‘irreplaceable buddies’"
The singer is due to continue his tour in Aberdeen on Friday, December 2 before returning to Glasgow on Saturday, December 3.
The Celtic-daft singer was the youngest of five children of Robert Stewart and Elsie Gilbart, with his two brothers and two sisters being born in Scotland before the family moved to London, where he was born.
Rod and his older sibling Bob shared a deep love for football, despite supporting opposing teams. The Do Ya Think I'm Sexy singer is a die-heard Celtic supporter and while his brother was a staunch Rangers fan - although the pair never had any disagreements over their allegiances.
Sir Rod also lost his other older brother Don just two days before the death of the Queen. Taking to social media at the time, he said: "It has been a devastating 48 hours. We lost my brother Don on Tuesday at 94 and today we have all lost Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 96.
"The Queen has been an unwavering presence throughout my life and a great unifier. A shining star that will never fade in our hearts and souls. What a privilege it was to perform for her. My deepest sympathies to the Royal Family. God save the King."
Rod's surviving siblings are his older sisters Peggy and Mary. Speaking at his sister Mary's 90th birthday party in 2019, Rod told how his family had helped his early career.
"I've got to tell you, these guys were instrumental in supporting me, helping me get into music and just being there for me," he said. "Whether it was football or washing my dirty underpants, I can't speak highly enough about these guys."
He added: "These guys have just been effing brilliant throughout my life. We've had our arguments haven't we Don? The odd punch-up now and again but I love you, and I love you, Mary."
