Rod Stewart shares 90s throwback clip to celebrate live album which brought Maggie May classic

Rod Stewart has taken to social media to share a fond throwback to the 1990s in celebration of the launch of his live album Unplugged...and Seated as the British rocker reminisced on his Maggie May days alongside former bandmate Ronnie Wood.

Described as the "best grit and feeling of his 70s hits" Unplugged...and Seated is a live album released by Rod on 24 May 1993 by Warner Bros. Records. It is the now 78-year-old singer's second live album and his first appearance on MTV Unplugged.

He captioned the image and video clip to his 1.3 million Instagram followers: "This year marks 30 years of Unplugged… and seated. Happy anniversary! Reaching number 2 on the album charts around the world, What’s your favourite song from the album?"

In true Sir Rod style, the dad-of-eight was filmed bopping around the stage in a low white buttoned shirt with the microphone stand in hand whilst Ronnie Wood played the guitar alongside him.

And it didn't take long for his fans to rush to the social media post to share their fond memories too, as they told their favourite parts of the album.

“'And ‘ere’s Ron Wood!' … love this album, one of my favorites," penned on person on Instagram.

Someone else added: "Mandolin wind is my all time favorite song x"

A third quipped: "Handbags and gladrags, waltzing Matilda are over looked gems on that album. So good!"

"Best album - had it on cassette!! My husband and I played it to death!! The best bit has to be talking of when the song was released and Ron quipping 'his wife was only 1!' followed by his dirty laugh!!," added another fan.

Rod Stewart is a father to eight kids and has been no stranger to marriages - Sarah, Kimberly, Sean, Ruby, Renee, Liam, Alastair and Aiden. Rod Stewart and his current wife Penny Lancaster, 51, have been married now for thirteen years.
