Sir Rod Stewart says he is "delighted" after one of his songs have been chosen to feature on the King's Coronation playlist.
The Rocker, 78, told his 1.2 million followers and fans on Instagram that his cover of Curtis Mayfield's song ‘People Get Ready’, which he recorded with the late Jeff Beck, has been added to the list.
Celtic-daft Rod confirmed last week that he would not be preforming at the Coronation concert in May, because he will be in Las Vegas.
In a post on the social media site on Thursday afternoon, he said: "Delighted to see that they’ve chosen our version of Curtis Mayfield's song ‘People Get Ready’ with my old mate Jeff Beck to be on the official King’s Coronation playlist.
He added: "What an honour, Jeff would no doubt have been delighted too. Thank you."
Lovers of Sir Rod's music are also delighted, with one person commenting: "Wonderful! Congratulations Sir Rod." Another replied: "Congrats Sir Rodney. You truly are one of Englands national treasures."
A third wrote: "Simply respectful and an honour for you." While a fourth penned: "Your version is one of my favorite songs ever."
