After months of speculation surrounding its price tag, Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch at $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99.
The publisher announced today via a press release that pre-orders for GTA 6 will open on June 25 at midnight local time across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is scheduled to launch on Nov. 19, 2026. As with previous Rockstar titles, the PC version is expected to arrive after the console launch.
The confirmation makes GTA 6 one of the latest major AAA releases to adopt the $80 standard edition price point. A move that has become increasingly common across the gaming industry. Rumors about GTA 6 carrying a premium price had circulated for years, with some analysts even suggesting the game could exceed $100, given its status as a once-in-a-generation title. The developer has instead settled on the growing industry standard of $79.99.
For players looking for additional content, Rockstar is also offering the Ultimate Edition for $99.99. According to the publisher, the edition features an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and other bonuses woven throughout Jason and Lucia’s story.
Players who pre-order any version of GTA 6, or purchase the game before Nov. 20, will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. The bonus content celebrates the neon-soaked legacy of Vice City and includes a collection of themed in-game items. Digital pre-orders will also come with one month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription service, which can be redeemed immediately and used across GTA Online and select Rockstar titles.
Rockstar also confirmed that players who purchase digital copies will be able to preload the game starting Nov. 12, one week before launch. Physical editions will become available on the same day and will include a download code instead of a physical disk to allow players to preload the game ahead of release.
Set in the state of Leonida, GTA 6 follows protagonists Jason and Lucia as they become entangled in a sprawling criminal conspiracy stretching across the series’ biggest world to date. Rockstar describes the game as the most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto franchise yet.
With pricing finally confirmed and pre-orders set to go live, the countdown to one of the most anticipated game launches in history has officially begun.
