Quick-fire Celtic secured a rousing win over RB Leipzig to spark their UEFA Youth League campaign with a stylish 2-1 victory in Germany.
Highly-touted Rocco Vata fired home the opener from a volley and it was double delight when Tsoanelo Letsosa was quickest to react to double his side's lead in the 10th minute. And it could be even better after 15 minutes but Adam Brooks was denied by the RB Leipzig keeper from the penalty spot.
And Celtic lived to rue that missed opportunity as the resurgent visitors pushed the pace after the interval. Max Voigt reduced the arrears in the 58th minute and that led to a sustained period of pressure as the young Celts aimed to contain the hosts. And the win has breathed new life into their Group F campaign. They will aim to make it a double against RB next week in Glasgow before a return with Shakhtar on matchday five.
Vata was impressive, as was Bruno Davidson and despite eight minutes of added time at the end as tensions flared, the stars of tomorrow made a statement with their signature win on foreign soil.
The senior side will gain encouragement ahead of their own clash with Leipzig this evening. Ange Postecoglou 's side know a victory will have them in control of their own destiny with three matches remaining in their Champions League group.
The game kicks off at 5:45pm and Record Sport has you covered with all the action.
