A famous face has thrown his weight behind a campaign to save a village pub from closure as residents look to raise thousands of pounds to secure its future.
The Fishers Arms at the heart of the village of Horncliffe on the Scottish border in Northumberland welcomed visitors and locals alike for 250 years before closing in October 2021.
An ACV (asset of community value) Order was passed in 2018, preventing any change of use of the building - and now the villagers are fighting to buy the premises and run it as a community pub.

Their campaign has been backed by none other than Northumberland's most famous fisherman, Robson Green.
The Hexham -born actor recorded a video message lending his support to the pub.
In the video, Robson said: "So I've heard a vicious rumour, the village of Horncliffe and the people of Horncliffe are in the process of trying to take over the Fisher's Arms there.
"Wonderful pub, been there many times, great, great haunt of mine.
"I wish you all the best with this, and if you're successful it will be a fantastic place for anglers from all over Britain, if not the world, to have a bit of R&R after a great day - or weeks - fishing. I wish you all the best."
Since the pub closed, a website has been set up by villagers as they look to raise enough money to purchase and refurbish the pub.
