Robin Williams’ Villa Sorriso was far more than a celebrity home. Set across about 640 acres in California’s Mayacamas Mountains, the secluded Napa Valley retreat combined vineyards, horse trails, olive trees and a nearly 20,000-square-foot mansion. Built in the early 2000s, the estate was designed as a private escape with lavish spaces for family and entertaining. Williams eventually listed Villa Sorriso for $35 million in 2012, but finding a buyer proved difficult. After years of price cuts and Williams’ death in 2014, the property finally sold in January 2016 for $18.1 million, about half its original asking price. The property also offered sweeping views across the valley and surrounding mountains, while its extensive grounds provided space for outdoor activities, quiet walks and equestrian pursuits. Its secluded setting gave the actor and his family a rare sense of privacy. The estate also featured a private lake, tennis court, swimming pool and extensive gardens, adding to its appeal as a self-contained luxury retreat. Its design blended naturally with the landscape, creating peaceful spaces for relaxation away from the demands of Hollywood life.
